Here\u2019s a look at some of what\u2019s in flower this week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Colchicums are putting on a show throughout the garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Anemone japonicas make great fillers in our garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

My favorite (right now) is A. j. \u2018Pamina’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Anemone japonica \u2018Honorine Jobert\u2019 (white flowers) can get  a bit floppy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

This little cutie is A. j. \u2018Red Ridinghood\u2019, a most recent addition from Benedicts Nursery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re getting some very good Aster\u2019s (thanks to generous friends); I need to get more photographed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Colchicums are a big hit here as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

C. \u2018Rose Queen’<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Colchicum agrippinum (no longer in bloom), is my favorite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Though I am drawn to the weird as well: C. \u2018Harlekijn\u2019 came from Brent & Beckys\u2019 Bulbs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Alright, I\u2019ll stop with the Colchicums!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

A late-blooming Allium, the seed of which came from the Botanical Garden of Pyung Yang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

A hibiscus from Tim Karl, I believe this is ‘Cranberry Crush\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Tony had written an article on Sternbergia in last fall\u2019s GLC Newsletter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I\u00a0divided a clump last year, so now I have to wait for these singles to clump up again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Little Honey\u2019 (oak-leafed hydrangea), seems to glow in the muted fall light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Begonia grandis goes on for weeks!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Chrysanthemum weryrichii, a low-growing, running mum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

However, this is the last of the Ipomopsis rubra. \u00a0I have it on good authority that I\u2019ve been circulating seed of this plant under the incorrect name I. aggregata ssp. aggregata.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I think this fall-blooming crocus is the only one (of once hundreds), that the \u201cchippies” have somehow missed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

And finally, after a season-long wait, the hanging baskets of Tricyrtis macronthopsis are in bloom, though showing their trials in a very dry September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Lastly, a fall-flowered vignette (though I think I\u2019ve posted this before).  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
